Never out of “Stijl” – Mondrian from head to toe. With the exhibition "Mondrian Evolution", we celebrate the multifaceted work of the Dutch artist Piet Mondrian at Fondation Beyeler. The show provides a rare opportunity to take a fresh look at Mondrian, who not only significantly influenced 20th century art, but also other fields such as design, architecture, pop culture and fashion. The famous Mondrian cocktail dress, for example, was created by fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent in Mondrian's design as early as 1965 and was the first fashion creation inspired by the art and style of Neoplasticism.
