It's looking likely to be sunny and hot, so PLEASE make sure you wear sunscreen and bring water with you. Grab some water from us if you need to -- we'll have about 500 bottles -- and never underestimate the heat. A hat and/or sunglasses are also advised. *** COVID PRECAUTIONS *** It was rightly pointed out to us by longtime community leader Eshe Kiama Zuri that an event that aims to be accessible, but doesn't keep in mind that disability and immune vulnerability often go hand-in-hand, still creates a barrier of accessibility, particularly during an ongoing worldwide pandemic. While the risk of spreading Covid-19 or other illnesses may not seem as pressing as in 2021, we still want to SERIOUSLY URGE all attendees to MASK UP before arriving at the march, as well as take as many other health precautions as they can. Even if it may not feel like it, we're in the midst of another covid wave, and even if you're sure you'll be fine, wearing a mask or face shield protects the people around you, who may not be. It also helps to protect your identity! LTP will have 300+ FFP2 masks for anyone who doesn't have one, in addition to 100+ bottles of hand sanitizer. While we can't enforce mask-wearing as mandatory, we STRONGLY, STRONGLY advise face coverings to be worn at all times. In that same vein, avoid sharing the same drinks or cigarettes, and be meticulous about sanitising or washing your hands after getting off of public transport. While this year's march is not formally socially-distanced, we should all still remain aware of social distancing. Leave as much space as you can between yourself and others. If you can afford to, make sure you take a Lateral Flow Test before you leave the house on Saturday. If you are, or could potentially be positive for Covid, STAY HOME. [caption continued in comments]
