So brilliant to work with @gettyimages newly launched Black History and Culture Collection. For #BLACKVENUS, my latest exhibition that I curated for @fotografiska.newyork, I looked through the 30,000+ strong archive of photos of the Black and African diaspora to create a short film which is displayed in the first room of the exhibition. A snippet of the film is shown in this 📹 From @naomi to Eartha Kitt, I also excavated the everyday extraordinary lives of pioneering Black women I have never known and history has yet to highlight. The collection provides improved access to rarely-seen images to educators, academics, researchers, content creators and more, hopefully enabling new stories surrounding Black culture to be shared.
