Yesterday, I had my second laparoscopic endometriosis excision surgery. Five years ago, I had my first surgery—one that completely changed my life. They not only found endometriosis, but also discovered a cancerous carcinoid tumor on my appendix. It was life-saving, but the trauma from that surgery also triggered all of my Lyme symptoms, which made going into this second surgery even scarier. Thankfully, everything went smoothly this time, and so far I’m recovering well.
