If you have felt the impact of the seasonal changes on your mood, energy and motivation, you could be experiencing SAD - Seasonal Affective Disorder.
These last few weeks, I have been walking you through some of the best ways you can help to combat symptoms of SAD.
Today, we are focusing on the benefits of going to bed earlier and waking up earlier. Although it sounds like a very simple step, the reasons as to why it can benefit you hugely are rooted within Traditional Chinese Medicine.
In “Huang Di Nei Jing” it says “the three months time of the winter is theseason for closing and storing”, “to go to bed early and get up late when the sunlight is seen, to dispel the cold or will hurt the kidney”.
So, as we move further into Autumn, and approach Winter, we will naturally want to rest more in the evening. Take advantage of the evenings drawing in and go to bed earlier, getting up earlier too.
Follow for more advice on how to look after yourself this Autumn/ Winter ✨
