ISC is deeply saddened by the passing of Halyna Hutchins (1979-2021), a young, talented and celebrated Cinematographer lost to an unfortunate 'On-Set' accident while filming her feature, "Rust". A graduate from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv with a degree in International Journalism, Halyna moved to the United States, taking up production-assistant jobs, working her way up from being a grip, electric and then shooting short films. In 2015, Halyna graduated from the American Film Institute and, in 2019 and was named a "Rising Star" by American Cinematographer. 32 credits as Director of Photography for features, Short films and Documentaries and suddenly no more... We mourn her loss to the fraternity of Cinematographers. With deep condolences to family and friends...
