My @natgeo feature on Morocco's tree-climbing goats is out now. Often described as a natural phenomenon unique to the North African nation, their climbing is instinctual to an extent: The goats are attracted to the fruit in argans and will clamber up to reach the pulpy treats. But some drought-stricken farmers make their goats stand for hours in roadside trees to earn tips from curious passersby, a venture that has drawn criticism from animal welfare advocates. The situation is complex; it involves animal welfare, but also climate change and people's livelihoods. Read my @natgeo story (link in bio) to learn more.
