So grateful to be with community last night to open the exhibition on Sobrevivir at VPAM @vpam_arts. I was very honored to have my mother and sons there to share about art that acknowledges and atones for the painful history of forced sterilizations of mostly immigrant Mexican mothers at LAC + USC Medical Center during the 1960s and 1970s. Thank you dear family, friends, and community members to share such a meaningful moment, and may we together continue to share the stories of the survivors and the legacy of their sobrevivir. I am deeply grateful 🙏
