This Saturday, September 24th Grand Performances closes out our 2022 summer season with a very special lineup featuring three groundbreaking artists who are shattering gender expectations while building larger cultural movements throughout the Latin music world. Composer, entrepreneur and bilingual singer, Francisca Valenzuela @franciscamusic is a force of nature, and one of the most active representatives of Chilean pop on an international level.⁠ She has been at the forefront of indie music and conversations that give visibility to feminine voices, for which she created “Ruidosa” and Ruidosa Radio, supporting female voices across all disciplines. Saturday's free show will be her exclusive Los Angeles area performance during her current North American tour. ⁠ @reneegoust is a bilingual singer-songwriter who grew up on the US/Mexico border. She writes about gender equality, queer experiences, migration, and other social justice issues to champion communities that have been historically under-represented in Latin folk music. @Que.Madre is a Los Angeles based DJ and mother. She began collecting vinyl records in her early 20's to connect with her upbringing in East Los Angeles, primarily focusing on lowrider oldies and soul.
