Introducing “First Voices,” my newest series / The question that drives me most urgently is "how can my art give power to the work I do on behalf of people and planet?” My conservation work has brought me to some of the world's most remote corners where I was always welcome to sit by the fire in the small hamlets and villages along the way. Everything I do today for our ocean is informed by those early lessons when I would listen closely to the people who were still attuned to the heartbeat of our planet. Through my lens, I have strived to capture the narratives, faces, and wildernesses whose stories we need to hear most of all. I wanted to sear them into the hearts of my viewers in hopes of compelling action for both wildlife and people, all from a place of empathy and compassion.
