This was a weird one but utterly fascinating. I've not seen Midnight Cowboy since middle school (which is a super loaded sentence depending on who reads it,) but having just finished Mel Brooks memoirs of overlapping times and places, this was an extremely enlightening read. A fascinating time for western culture, for American cinema, for NYC , and for Dustin Hoffman. Can't wait to rewatch Midnight Cowboy and be thankful that the world is somehow less on fire than it was in 1968/69.
