Wow eco guilt is REAL. And that’s what this reel is about: how projecting that eco guilt on others is counterproductive. I’ve been there 😩 Questioning our ethics every time we book a cab, buy a single use water bottle or get out a new sponge. Having spoken to some of the most prominent sustainability leaders, I can assure you they are all NORMAL people that have to do all of the above. Also consider the following: • how can we be kind to the planet if we are not kind to each other and OURSELVES? • sustainability needs to work within the spheres we exist. There are many things completely out of our direct control but we can adapt our lifestyles to our goals. It cannot be idealistic it must be grounded in *our* reality, according to our socio-economic, political and geographical circumstance. What can we do: • explore the different areas people choose to be sustainable and celebrate the wins, not every act is going to be as easy for you as it is for them. For example, some people struggle to stop buying fast fashion but solely grow their own vegetables and are into composting. That deserves an applaud! • every time you feel eco guilt, remember the fact you’re even feeling uncomfortable means you care 🙌🏼✨ so thank you for caring 🙏🏼 • join a positive and niche community that’s focused on tips, knowledge and good news. For example, if you’re into Upcycling follow @sophiebenson or if you want motivation to budget follow @tessmontgomery finally if your contribution to sustainable fashion is your love for thrifting @shewearsfashion always brings good vibes. Hope you’re all doing well and have a great start to the week 🙌🏼
