I think that little Brandi would be so damn proud of this nostalgic yet whimsical ode to her 🤍⁠ It seems like just yesterday I was just a kid growing up in good ol KC,MO; creating worlds in my head & coloring on my walls with my bunny Diamond that never left my side. Zoom to 2014; graduating from my photography program at UCM; begging my dad to help move me to New York City. A place I had never visited before, yet a place that I knew in my heart was where I needed to go and be.⁠ And what a journey these 8 years has been here.⁠ In these very short years I went from working at a coffee shop to being a full time creative. ⁠ I found my voice, my confidence, & my style in photography. ⁠ This city has pushed me, challenged me, and forced me to grow faster and more wild than I originally could even dream. It’s been a beautiful adventure in the visual arts; but also in life and discovery of self 🤍 ⁠ Today especially I am feeling so lucky to have those of you that have been cheering me on and supporting in this journey - some way even from the very beginning.⁠ The kind words, the encouragements, liking/sharing my work, my portrait clients, my friends, and family that are here always cheering on even my most anxious days - is something I cant quite express how grateful I am for. ⁠ You all; my friends, family, clients, & community here - keep me going.
