“Thanks Aunt Nancy I’ll take my chances!” While this type of advice is innocent and usually coming from a good place, it is stress inducing, and not very productive. It takes a mama out of the present and transplants them to some alternate future universe where their kids grow to abandon them. In a fast paced world it’s important for a mama to practice slowing down and being more mindful. While we all know one day our kids grow up and find their own way, it also doesn’t have to be a part of life we dread. As our kids grow so do we. We too will want more independence in our later years. There is beauty in adult children relationships. What am I missing?
