#ad Do your kids constantly leave the door open 😩? Yep- same! 🏃‍♀️ 💨 🚪It became such a problem that we decided to install sensors on our doors that send us alerts when they were left open. They double as security, and help us keep the hot summer air outside where it belongs 😅 Over the years and through 4 major renovations and lots of projects, we’ve become more conscious of our energy uses/costs. Scott even went so far as to get an airflow monitor to make sure our insulation was doing its job 🤓. We’ve also made smaller changes like switching out light bulbs with LEDs (LED lights use between 75-90% less energy than incandescent bulbs, while providing the same amount of light 🤓). And swapped out a number of our switches to dimmers + programmed our smart device to automatically shut off the lights at 8:15 pm. It helps the girls know it’s bedtime too 💁🏼‍♀️ My favorite summer ☀️ tip is opening the windows on cool nights to lock in the cold air, and closing them jn the morning before it heats up 🥰- helps me sleep better too!
