One thing about me....no matter how much I’ve grown...I’m forever going to talk with my hands. 😂 However, the person in first photo was living a lie. There was always a ping in the back of my mind saying, “This isn’t who you are.” And I fought it. Tirelessly. Until I woke up one day and said, “Stop running.” And I’m so glad I dId. The woman in the second photo....is living and celebrating her truth. And y’all, it is such a liberating feeling. 3 years ago. I stepped into @callenlorde as a patient, simply wanting healthcare to assist me with my transition. Last night, I had the honor to serve as the co-chair of their 21st Annual Community Health Awards and also meet the @callenlorde family as a new member of the Board of Directors. To say last night was a dream come true, is an understatement. It was such an overwhelming feeling to see so much love in one room. To see how many people believe in the mission of Callen-Lorde. To be joined by some of my closest loved ones who have been vital to my journey as I took on this additional role. Last night we celebrated those who continue to advocate for our community: the extraordinary @roxanegay74, brilliant #drrachellevine, and the inspiring @satchellee. We broke records and helped ensure the future of LGBTQ+ healthcare for so many. To all involved, this Georgia girl can’t thank y’all enough. My heart is so full. ❤️
