It’s with a lot of sadness that I have decided to stop updating the Take Magazine Instagram. I have recently felt less enjoyment in posting. In fact it’s has been a source of anxiety rather than the joy it once was. This has a lot to do with Instagrams algorithms basically throttling the account. We are now losing followers and have way less engagement. Should this matter? Maybe not. But it does. People who run these types of accounts spend countless hours curating and searching for work to show. It takes time and energy. So getting new followers and likes is a sign that it’s worth it, that it’s appreciated. As that changes due to Meta’s drive for profits over users, it becomes more of a chore than a joy. So I’ve decided to pause things for now. I’d like to thank all the AMAZING photographers whose work I’ve been able to show, and all of the people who have followed the account. You’re all awesome!
