ICYMI, on Saturday we were joined by @bkbpreynoso & advocates for a ribbon cutting on the Emmons Ave #BikeNYC lane in Sheepshead Bay. The 2-mile lane closes one of the most important gaps in #Brooklyn’s waterfront greenway, connecting Coney Island to the Jamaica Bay Greenway. This project converted angled parking to parallel parking to make space for a two-way protected #BikeNYC lane, which increased the total number of vehicle parking spaces as well. Narrower travel lanes in both directions also provide safer crossing distances for pedestrians.
