In the 1960s, photographer William John Kennedy befriended two unknown artists: Andy Warhol and Robert Indiana. Capturing both at the start of the careers, years before they gained global fame, Kennedy's images offer an intimate view of the artists in their youth, alongside members of Warhol’s circle. Lost for nearly 50 years before being rediscovered, the images were presented in the 'Before they were Famous' exhibition, which travelled to London and New York.
