Yesterday marked the 5-year anniversary of the Atlas Peak Fire. What started as a beautiful fall day in October, ended up changing the lives of not only our family but Napa Valley as a whole. Each year we mark this anniversary to reflect on how grateful we are to all those brave individuals who helped us battle the fire to protect our home, our livelihood and this property. We will never forget ! While it’s easy to look back and think of the devastation the fire caused, five years later what strikes us the most is the resiliency of not only the people in this valley but the land itself. Where there was once a scar from the fire’s devastation is now full of life! We are so blessed to be able to share it with so many who visit! Since 2017, we have also learned from the past and are doing our best in being prepared for the future. We are committed to practicing fire prevention and environmentally sustainable mitigation strategies, not only here at the ranch, but helping others in the valley do the same. Whether it be for our own property, the ranches we manage or assisting neighbors throughout the valley, we are more prepared than ever. We often raise a glass, especially this time of year, in remembrance to all who helped us! Not a day goes by that we don’t count our blessings for this beautiful piece of paradise we so, fortunately, get to call home.
