Want to hear a funny story about this watch? Okay, so I've collected watches for a long time - not expensive ones, but weird ones. I used to have this pretty serious obsession with strange Japanese watches where you could only tell the time by counting certain dots or multiplying this color by that color and then subtracting a third color and dividing by 3, etc etc. What can I say? I'm a fucking nerd. Anyway, I spent my twenties going to SNL after after parties every weekend, and at one of these late night/early morning shindigs, @roeyhz and I are hanging with our pal @lonnyrosss and his #30Rock co-stars Judah Friedlander and Jenna Maroney. To try to make them laugh, I start doing a whole stupid bit about this weird Japanese watch I'm wearing, and I get them all doubled over pretty good. Judah keeps asking how it works, but I suck at math and keep getting the time wrong and the whole thing turns into a mess. Anyway, we all share a few yuks, I leave at sunrise, nab my usual 6am post party 3 slice (a pepperoni, a white, and a Buffalo chicken) and snag an early morning taxi home. Another successful Saturday night in the Big Apple. I don't think anything of it until a few weeks later when Roey's like "Hey man did you see 30 Rock last night" and I'm like "no" and he's like "watch this" and I'm like "no way" and he's like "yup" - and that's how I found out that they wrote a joke about me on 30 Rock! INSANE. The best part of the whole thing is that the guy who says the joke is my pal and hilarious Late Night writer Brian McCann - and he had no idea!
