Last month, I “made” the HLAY tomatoes for the First Lady and all of her First Lady friends. For her lunch soirée, Dr. Jill Biden wanted all women chefs, so together, we cooked a women-made lunch to best showcase the wondrous diversity of the Los Angeles culinary landscape. Constantly, I am so impressed by the dynamic women around me in this fragile restaurant industry, and I’m so glad that both @regardingherfood and the First Lady afforded us a gorgeous Friday afternoon to illuminate their talent and grace. And bring us all closer. A sisterhood. Both the chefs and the First Ladies: These women deserve every imaginable minute in the limelight. But I’ve come a long way! I was better suited to edit all the bios of all the women chefs down to a 100 words for the program — my honor entirely.
