Hermann Nitsch, painter, composer, director, a founder of Viennese Actionism and creator of the Orgies Mystery Theatre shed this mortal coil this past April. Some of these pictures were shot at the staging of his round the clock 6 Day Play (6-Tag-Spiel) at his castle in Prinzendorf, Austria in 1998. Others were taken when he came to Los Angeles to visit his dear friend and supporter Gary Todd after Gary’s tragic accident. The two friends passed away within weeks of each other. My deepest condolences to the Nitsch family, especially to his lovely wife Rita, who was the most generous, loving, caring host to Gary, me and several hundred actors and guests over that week in 1998. I served as Gary’s assistant for round the clock sound recording along along with making photographs for the event documentation and for my own archive.
