Most artists get to feel the force of full frontal abuse from time to time. And when that happens? Well, there’s not much point in ‘cryin’ to your Mummy.’ In any case? Deplete of energy and much in the way of fresh inspiration, I too thought the party was over for Simple Minds back then. That's the result when life seems to be hellbent on knocking the stuffing out of you, when confidence is at an all time low. That kind of thinking didn't last that long though. Had a toothache that lasted longer to be honest. Resultantly the notion that there was still so much music to be made and played started to dominate our thinking - leading us to the kind of situations we find ourselves today - only weeks from releasing our 18th studio album 'Direction Of The Heart.'
