@mimizhuxiyuan pink era, 2018 i met mimi when i started my queer asian american portraits series 5 years ago. i remember we sat by the water in prospect park and talked about how our fresh new york lives were in flux. mimi was just starting their newsletter and planting the seeds of their book. i was just starting to question my gender and sexuality and how to process the journey thru photography🌱 this project is so dear to my heart. its how i met a lot of my closest friends. i have witnessed our separate journeys of self-exploration over the years: flowing parting crashing into each other cheering each other on, affirming affirming affirming our transformations 🌊 how lucky can a boy get in this lifetime: when i look thru my work i'm in a constant state of gratitude, love, and admiration. my lil heart swells!!!
