The eyes are the brain’s main source of information. To keep your gaze stable, the brain constantly coordinates the work of eyes, neck muscles, and the vestibular system.
Screens, stress, and poor posture all interfere with stable visual input, so the body starts compensating through the neck. This is where the suboccipital muscles come in — they stay active even at rest.
What helps? Gentle work with the upper cervical spine, breathing to calm the nervous system, reducing visual overload, and slow, mindful movement.
Here’s a simple exercise you can do right now to support your eyes and neck.
