From dream to screen. A year ago @ruggero_romano asked if I wanted to join him on a mission - make a docufilm raising awareness about the resilient Venetian community -finding its post pandemic rebirth and sharing this welcoming community as a symbol with an international resonance. With a focus on under-30s we wanted to start a cross generational conversation showing how the youth is innovating the city whilst learning and safe-guarding its traditions. As an Italian with strong ties to Venice and benefiting from privileges that pure Venetians struggle to grasp themselves - I felt a bigger calling to complete this project -it became my mission too. With barely any experience in film making Ruggero trusted me as his Producer. 🙏 Fast forward to today - we shot, edited and presented the movie at the Venice Film Festival. Thanks to @fraoggiano for mediating our presentation. 🙌🏻 This was no easy ride, but definitely an exciting one. Countless days indoors planning, outdoors shooting unbelievable moments, and back inside editing in the roasting Italian weather. We never doubted the process, not for 1 second, with constant support from the community. I’ll carry these memories on for my whole life and whatever comes after that.
