Nowhere I'd rather be than celebrating Juneteenth in the place where the undiluted Souls of Black folk can be felt most palpably. When a city gives to me...feeds me/my creativity, it expands my consciousness and evolves my life on this plane. To honor that gift is to pay homage to the community that provides that "nourishment" by first gaining an intimate understanding of the culture of the community through those who are deeply rooted - then exploring how to serve. No better ambassador to the community in New Orleans than my brother @wendellpcg (and Miles:) whose radio station WBOK 1230AM hosted Juneteenth Freedomfest today. One of the sponsors was a young brother, John Renthrope's company @drinkcajunfire - an example of legacy building in action. Owner of the 1st black owned brewery in the south whose family is seeking ways to responsibly develop with and for Black folks. Celebration without action is kinda like Faith without works.
