Let’s normalize those days when you don’t want to get up and deal with anything. It doesn’t mean something’s wrong with you—it means you’re human. Life feels heavy sometimes.
If you’re feeling that weight right now, here are a few small, CBT-informed steps that can help:
✨ Limit your news intake
Constant updates can heighten anxiety. Try setting a boundary—check the news once or twice a day from trusted sources, then log off.
✨ Name what you’re feeling
Saying it out loud or writing it down (“I feel helpless,” “I’m overwhelmed”) helps you create distance from the emotion and regain perspective.
✨ Call or text a friend
Connection is powerful. You don’t have to have all the answers—just letting someone in can ease the emotional load.
✨ Try a grounding exercise
Use the 5-4-3-2-1 method: notice 5 things you see, 4 you can touch, 3 you hear, 2 you smell, 1 you taste. It brings you back to the here and now.
✨ Focus on what’s in your control
Choose one small action—rest, care for someone, take a walk. Small steps create momentum.
✨ Be kind to yourself
Feeling heavy doesn’t mean you’re failing. It means you’re affected, aware, and human. Meet yourself with compassion.
Take what you need today—and let the rest be okay to let go of for now. 💛
You’re not alone.
👇 Tell me—which one of these do you need most today?
