My mom Josephine Timilione passed away on Feb 15th. She was the daughter of Frank and Santa Timilione, both Sicilian immigrants. She was the oldest of five. She raised me and my three siblings single handedly and against great odds. She was one of the funniest people I ever knew - in another life she could have been a stand-up comic or a movie star. In the life she had however, she worked hard to support her kids and put us all through college. She had impeccable taste in music, everything from Sinatra to Barry White, anything with soul. She smoked Parliament 100’s, and made the world’s best sauce, an absolutely exquisite lasagna, not to mention a damn fine cherry brandy. She was the best dressed woman in Syracuse NY, refused to let a gray hair anywhere near her head. She was smart and strong and beautiful. She was a survivor. She taught me resilience and persistence and hustle. She leaves behind not only her four children but two grandchildren who simply adored the ground she walked on. They will miss her dearly. We all will. Love you Mom. Rest easy.
