Spider/webs are a living archive of matters terrestrial and cosmic that cling to their charged silken threads. They collect particles of ferrimagnetic iron minerals, indicating the amount of contamination generated by fossil fuel combustion. At the same time, as Spiders eat their webs they are exposed to these particles, ingesting toxic airborne pollution. In their interaction with dust, spiders and their webs can thus function as bioindicators, revealing the quality of the air we all breathe.
