I’m back in NYC, and besides the memories from Madrid and some spices and sauces (because grocery store tourism is my religion when traveling, lol), I also brought back this: my certificate from @lae_madrid And no, it’s not about the certificate itself, but what this piece of paper represents. I’ve grown up loving to study languages—and back in the day, there were no YouTube channels, apps, or online courses, and studying in a private language school was super expensive. I even did some research about studying abroad in 2010 but ended up abandoning the idea because I didn’t have the time or money to do it. Studying abroad was a dream that seemed so distant from my reality. Cut to 2025—I just got back from Madrid, where I spent a month studying Spanish, a language for which I developed a passion after graduating from college when I started taking English and Spanish classes. It was an incredible experience: connecting with people from different places, learning more about the language, and discovering life in such an amazing city. I’m so proud of myself for not feeling discouraged by my age or my insecurities.
