2577.8mi . . . Good ole rainy day (well at least most of the day that’s for sure). Both Nugget and I managed to keep Jerry the mouse out it of our tents but he decided to use Nuggets tent as a jungle gym in the middle of the night. It was like American Ninja Warrior mouse edition. I spent most of the day soaked but it wasn’t foggy so still got some beautiful Washington views. I don’t think days since last shower coordinate with how gross you feel because I think this is officially the grossest I’ve felt all trail. The flies also remind me how gross I am because I just get swarmed by them all the time especially during lunch and water breaks. At least the butterflies like me equally as much. I turned my big net into a snack holder so I could eat snacks without flies pinging off my face every few seconds. It’s trendy for sure. This afternoon we hiked to the road to get into Stehekin. We ate dinner and then a guy offered to drive people into town since the shuttles were done running for the day. Nugget and a couple other hikers went into town. She had a box to get the next day but since I was going into Mazama I pushed on. It was weird because Nugget and I haven’t hiked completely apart from each other since before Oregon. We planned to meet up at Harts Pass in a couple days. I hiked 5 more miles to the next campsite so I had a shorter day into town the next day. Since I had been soaked for a couple days my shorts had been rubbing so bad and I was basically out of anti chafing stuff so opted for a no pants night hike since it was just me, the trees and the bears. I entered North Cascades National Park which was my last park of the trail. I basically got to camp and threw my stuff out to cowboy camp and passed out. I think I was too tired to think about the fact that it might rain since that was a theme but here we are.
