If your tribe doesn’t grow, you don’t grow. Ever since I started riding, I’ve been catching myself trying to inspire many of my non-riding friends to get motorcycles and start riding. In my mind, it’s not a very difficult sell. With how happy it’s made me and how much joy it’s sparked, I feel like everyone’s life could be enriched by getting their hands on a two-wheeled steed. I have this idea that exists in a perfect world where we start a gang of adventuring motorcyclists. We ride the most stunning roads capturing the beauty of the world by day, and then fight crime as masked vigilantes by night. And of course, we all have matching denim bombers. Even my friends that have never ridden before, I remind them that I’m but a novice hooligan on a motorcycle of just a couple of years. And those that used to be riders, I kind of belittle them for ever stopping. @kcookmeyer, a good buddy I met through photography, is one such individual that has received the proverbial backside of my hand. But I’m proud to say I got him on the back of a steel steed. Actually, I guess I can’t take all (or really any) of the credit. @running_erinds and the fun-time crew that is @gofastdontdie also threw in a heap of persuasion. But what a joy and a privilege it was to share the road and see him absolutely rip it on @devilstonerun. I latch onto these of ideas of gangs, bands, and tribes because I still feel like any good motorcycle journey is one that can be shared with others. Then journey is made better by those that are on the road is with you, the stories are made better, you’re made better.
