Buddy is Tessa’s orphaned bottle calf born in 2017... and this one just gets to stick around. He’s a steer (castrated male) so serves no purpose on the ranch like most of our livestock (breeders or eaters) but since he had antibiotics as a calf he wasn’t going into our market (meat) program... and Tess was a little too attached to harvest for the family and friends program! So Buddy gets to live out his days as a giant frat boy on the ranch (most steers are harvested around 2 years old.
