Texturizing versus Layering 💡 Layering is used to remove weight and build shape in a haircut. It’s great for removing bulk and adding movement but can often be tricky for the client to style at home. People feel if they have fine hair that layering is going to give them volume but the reality is that fine hair can’t afford to lose the weight giving them the opposite result. Texturizing is nothing more than a softer more subtle version of layering. You’re still building shape and removing weight just in less aggressive way.
