When you write, what's the worst that can happen? You could get canceled, doxxed, and attacked physically as well as verbally. Writing seems glamorous to some, and it used to be a fairly safe activity. If someone didn't like something they read, they might argue or debate about it, but violence? Not that I know of. Most people would just move on. Today, it's different. I've known of writers and editors being SWATted just because someone didn't like their work. Someone tried that on me once (that I'm aware of). Fortunately, the police were very low key, and nothing bad happened. You may write about whatever you choose.
