My biggest advice is to follow your heart⁠- always! Especially when it comes to your wedding day. It's your day, so do what feels best for you (also ... key word “YOU” 😉). ⁠ As someone who’s attended more weddings than you’ll believe, I will give you some guidance on things I think might just help make it a little extra sweet along the way. ⁠One of those things is the first look. Some people think it's a trend, some people think it will take away from the moment you walk down the aisle at the ceremony. I disagree with both. In fact, the superstition of not seeing the bride before the wedding comes from unsuccessful arranged marriages where men would see their brides beforehand & then, peace out! ✌🏻🤪 ⁠ Now we have a choice (hopefully lol). And now we can see each other beforehand whereupon making the schedule of the day less stressful. Plus, you can spend your day together, you can get dressed and go right into seeing each other, and do the photos while fresh. Then come the ceremony and you don’t have to rush off, or leave your wedding. You can stay and create moments with the people you invited and actually enjoy the day, the night, the people, the food and each other. So let's tackle that other excuse of why not to do a first look. The whole "it won't make it as special at the aisle". I call bullshit on that one.⁠ ⁠ And I have Maddison and Jon here to prove just that.⁠ There was emotion on top of emotion. There was love, connection and pure excitement to see each other, again and again. One would almost say this feeling of craving, desire and absolute need to be with one another. It left you feeling love on a whole other level. And each time they came together or found each other (all throughout the day and night) it happened again and again. That was the most beautiful thing in the whole wide world. Do what feels best for you, follow your heart & lean into your feelings. Feel them.
