When was the last time you ate a food and thought ‘oh I’m so naughty’ or ‘I’ll need to work that off in the gym tomorrow’.
In my time of being incredibly restrictive with my eating, I was absolutely subscribed to the idea that there were two categories of food. Good foods, and bad foods... And this incredibly binary mindset meant that I was FAR more likely to slip in to all out binges because I restricted from the foods I feared to be bad so often.
No one food in isolation can be considered good or bad because our diet is so much more complex than that. It’s not about what we eat in one meal or even one day. Just as it’s not what we do in one exercise or one gym session.
We are the sum of what we do every day, and so having a far more balanced approach of eating a variety of foods that both nourish your body and support your relationship with food is going to be far more healthy for us in the long term than an incredibly restrictive and limiting diet.
Eat the pizza, eat the broccoli, do what works for you. But doing both, for me, has made me happier and healthier in the long term ✌🏻🍕
Peace and pizza always 😜 #Pizza #Balance #RealTalk
