Of course, living so far from family, I have always grappled with my own feelings of missing them. But seeing my kids play so well with their cousins makes it even more difficult, knowing they will grow up with this feeling of being far from people they love. We love where we live and we know it’s a hugely privileged choice to live there, and I am beyond grateful for the friends who feel like family. But it doesn’t come without a constant niggling feeling (for me, anyway) of distance. One thing though, it does make these moments together extra extra special. 💛✨ For the past month I have felt like an emptiness is being filled, not a day has been taken for granted. 🙏🏻
