5/8 I’ve been developing a new technique for the past 2 years, one that allows me to play challenging speeds without getting immediately tired It involves relaxing the right hand while giving more power to the articulation in the left hand In essence, I developed this 5/8 cell that I can repeat and make variations on. I’ve been slowly applying it to my playing Today I decided to play along with set of changes in an actual 5/8 meter for the first time. It’s interesting - it feels grounding, but I miss some syncopation, something that would put it more in the terrain of “Merengue Caraqueño”. More work ahead!
