This one meant more than most. We were coming off a hard loss at PPA’s DC tournament final and we had to face some serious adversity mid match at PPA Texas Open when @a.l.waters_a1 suffered an injury. Thankfully, it wasn’t a serious injury and we played on. I thought we should withdraw from the match, but thanks to a wonderful Dr on site and the help of a knee sleeve, AL convinced me that we could play on. At first I couldn’t refocus, I was so worried about AL. But after the end of the 2nd game she told she could continue, but she needed me to really step it up and try to cover a bit more court than usual. I don’t know if I actually did any of that, but what I did tell AL was that slow and steady can win the race, and let’s just both try to play within ourselves, stay balanced with our bodies, and play smart. Somehow, we pulled through the finals with a win. Our competitors of Irvine and Bright played tough as always and were fierce yet classy through the match. The day was over for me, but AL continued on and came away with the triple crown winning singles, and mixed dubs with @benjohns_pb. I am so proud of you AL for everything that you do and for who you are. Every day you amaze me. Congrats on your 6th triple crown this year. You deserve it!
