We deeply mourn the loss of Nichelle Nichols, the trailblazing icon from Star Trek: The Original Series who portrayed Lt. Nyota Uhura. Ms. Nichols was a tireless advocate for causes she held dear, which included NASA, where she appeared in a promotional film aimed at motivating women and people of color to pursue careers in spaceflight. A fan favorite at conventions over the years, Ms. Nichols was a recipient of the Comic-Con Inkpot Award in 2018. Our condolences go out to her family, friends, and fans across the world. 📸 C.
