Glacier cavities are formed by meltwater - the direct result of climate change. With the support of La Prairie, Swiss artist Douglas Mandry captured the forms of these cavities with the insight of ETH's Glaciology Professor, Daniel Farinotti, on an expedition to the Rhône glacier in Switzerland. By introducing a 3D scanner into the shafts, the researchers gathered the necessary data to create digital molds that inspired the shape of Douglas Mandry's artworks, bringing together art and science to explore the impact of climate change on our Swiss landscapes.
