Went to see @empirelightfilm with @binarychimes this week, and it’s a hard festive recommend from these eyes and ears. The film is a (very) personal love letter to cinema as well as an exploration of mental health and race in Thatcher’s Britain on the cusp of 1981, and Olivia Colman is amazing as is @michealward from @smallaxeseries. Directed by Sam Mendes and filmed in Margate with master DOP @rogerdeakins, it gives nods to Being There, Chariots Of Fire and even Private Benjamin.
