When I heard the audio it turned my stomach. None of these comments are ok. Historically, the comparison of blacks to monkeys is deeply racist, derogatory, offensive and unacceptable. It is imperative that as public servants we respect one another, uphold each other with dignity and work together for the greater good of our constituents. Our job is to serve and protect civil liberties regardless of race, religion, age or who you love. These comments demonstrate, otherwise. We as a council cannot sit idly by and allow this to be our voice.
