2623.0mi . . . When I got up I was sweating cause the loft I slept in at the hostel was like a sauna. I packed up all my crap and threw a days worth of food in my food bag because Little Spoon was going to take the rest of my crap to Harts Pass so I didn’t have to carry it all. We drove into town to grab breakfast at the bakery. I had a killer breakfast bagel sandwich and chocolate croissant on my way to the trail. Little Spoon dropped me off at Rainey Pass before heading out to do some day hiking of his own. The hike was beautiful and I felt good. The climbs were relatively gradual and I was just powering through them. Some day hikers were testing my Chemistry recollection when they walked by because they couldn’t think of any negative ions. I hit 2600 miles which is my last big mile marker before the end. It drizzled a little but not too bad until 15 minutes before I was going to walk into Harts Pass. It was so cool though because you could see the beautiful colors of the sunset through the light rain that was coming down. Nonetheless I was soaked when I got to Harts Pass, but quickly heard a half dozen people yell my name from inside the Ranger hut. I went inside and a sweet ranger, Mary Ann, was letting the hikers chill inside her little room until the rain let up. Little Spoon was there along with Sausage, who I hadn’t seen since early in the Sierra. The rain fortunately let up after a bit so I headed off to find a spot to put my tent up with a can of @fanta in hand thanks to Little Spoon. I found a solid tent spot and made some dinner before drifting off to sleep to the sound of water dripping on my tent from the tree I was perched under. . . . #adventureswithsyd #findyouradventure #adventureisoutthere #pacificcresttrail #pacificcresttrail2022 #pct2022 #at2021 #takemetothemountains #idhikethat #thruhike #thetrek #trekthepct #goingfarout #washington #hikingwashington #cascademountains #hartspass
