Dear Isaac, Today is your first day of first grade. And today is my first day of being a mom to a big kid, or so it feels this way. Today you get to start something new, begin a chapter, turn a corner. This is where it gets sweet - life. Today you will meet fresh eyes and discover adventure you haven’t yet. Today you will step foot into a world you do not know, only to figure out how to learn it. This is where it gets tough - courage (but don’t worry you have a lot of that). Today you will witness unopened petals bloom, hear voices you have not heard, and place your belongings in a locker you’ve never had. This is where it gets important - responsibility. Although our beginnings together seem farther away the older you grow, they really have just begun. All the firsts with my first. Thank you for paving the way. I’m so glad it’s you. Love, Mom
