I still remember the first time I met Anne, she answered the door and the first thing she blurted out was "we could be related!". She made you feel welcome, she listened, she cared and she helped when she could. Anne had a big heart. I always looked forward to our fittings together. She shared many stories with me. It's hard to believe that not too long ago it was still taboo to be openly gay. She was a trailblazer in the sense of not listening when she was told not to publicly love who she wanted. She came from pain and loss and chose to laugh and love. I remember a conversation that has stuck with me to this day. She scolded me for not knowing my worth and value and to never agree to anything less. Hearing this as an artist is extremely uncommon especially by an actress. Anne trusted my vision and allowed me to confidently create looks for her. She would gasp in awe with enthusiasm which made you feel so proud. She introduced me to other creatives which I have the pleasure of knowing and working with today. She not only was a client but more like a mentor and friend. I could say so much more but to sum it up, Anne was a unicorn, I have never worked with an actress as sharp and functional as quirky and playful. She was unapologetically, Anne.
