A flag raising event was held to mark the beginning of Philippine Heritage Month. It was attended by leaders of Fiesta Filipino and the community. Transportation Minister Rajan Sawhney and Minister Mohammad Yaseen led the ceremony. The Province of Alberta declared the month of June as Philippine Heritage Month in 2018 to recognize the contributions of Filipinos in province economically, socially and culturally.
